About the Pendant:
This pendant is made with silver-filled wire and a Blue Opal Cabochon. This pendant has been antiqued and polished to show the details of the design.
ABOUT SILVER-FILLED WIRE: Silver-filled is a wire where the outer 10% is sterling silver, while the core is brass. There is a very small amount of nickle on the interior between the silver and brass that helps keep the sterling silver from diffusing into the brass. It is not on the outer portion of the wire, and it is about .01% of the overall wire composition.
The 10% Sterling silver outer is a thick layer that will uphold to a lot of polishing without exposing the brass underneath. Silver filled wire helps keep prices of the pendants lower, while having the beauty of silver.

Jewelry Care:
Silver-filled wire will darken over time, (oxidation), and is both normal and beautiful. For this particular piece, it helps to show the beautiful details of the weave by keeping the shadows dark and high points lights. Please note that because this pendant is made by hand and from flexible wire, it is not 100% perfect in shape. The hand made quality of this piece is unique and made with a lot of love, and has beauty in its imperfections.
